Happy New Year Yogis!
Yoga in the park will commence again on Jan 17th, can't wait to flow with all you beautiful people under the trees!
Yoga in the Park is offered on a 'pay as you feel' basis - inspired by the "lentils as anything" model - I believe yoga should be available to all and I feel passionately
about hosting some free events while finding space to sustain myself as a yoga teacher and therefore be able to teach and share more.
'Yoga in the park' is for all levels of experience, it is for everyone and is a place for you to connect with yourself and your community in the sunshine of the beautiful parks of Melbourne. Bring a yoga mat, towel, water bottle, or feel free to practice on the grass! My events will run in conjunction with weekly Acroyoga Jams and all of you are welcome to stay on after the class and jam with the acro community- beginners welcome!
Vinyasa Flow – this style of yoga connects breath and movement to create a continuous flow through postures, working on strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and finding space within yourself. We will practice sun salutations, work on the fundamental standing and seated poses, as well as flow through backbends, heart openers, inversions/ inversion prep and arm balances/prep.
Some Yin Yoga poses are mixed in toward the end of our practice and allows us to work deeply into the connective tissues of the body (fascia and myofascia) through extended holds between 2-7 minutes. This sets us up to fall into a deeper meditation practice.
***Your safety is your responsibility, if something doesn't feel right/good please ensure you come out of the pose, ask for assistance or take a variation***
