Tamara Gonda's (@tamaragonda.art ) enthusiastic brushstrokes & imaginative dreamscape imagery is brought to life through her eye for color. "I call myself a colorist. Color is the life of my paintings." (http://www.tamaragonda.com/biography) From her beautiful diptych or triptych pieces displayed in the Whitty Gallery wall's you can see her rich sense of color, her trained eye for landscape imagery, & the empowering feeling her work gives her audience a sense of rest to be enjoyed, as well as appreciated.
Nancy French (@treestoart) was trained as a traditional furniture maker but finding inspiration in her favorite hobby quickly became how she developed her new sculptural style. “Finding brush & firewood piles on the side of the road” (http://www.nancyafrench.com) she was drawn to their twisty shapes, & repurposing her salvaged broken hardwood from other projects. Not only talented in woodwork, but using other material such as bark, as well as, “rugs, wall hangings and mittens using felted wool.” She says “There are so many opportunities for artists to re-use discarded, damaged or worn out materials.”
