Students create and collect handmade
ceramic bowls, donated soups, and bread
from area potters and restaurants.
Community guests make a minimum twenty
dollar donation to obtain a “ticket” that buys
them a simple meal in a handmade bowl
along with a satisfying feeling that they’ve
helped somebody in
Guests keep their bowls as a reminder that
there are always empty bowls and hungry
people in the world.
This year's project includes bowls and art
from Watauga High School art students of
Brett McDonough, Dacia Trethewey, Lori Hill
and Alyssia Ruggiero.
Many of our area’s professional potters are
generously donating bowls as they have in
all the previous years.
“Potters of the Blue Ridge" members are
making and donating bowls and organizing
this year’s ‘Teapot Challenge” for the silent
auction. Also many of our local businesses
are contributing to the numerous silent
auction items up for bid.
