Join us on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00am as Circle Cinema presents D.W. Griffith's restored epic melodrama "WAY DOWN EAST" (1920) in our 2nd Saturday Silents program. The story of the film concerns an innocent New England country girl (Lillian Gish), seduced by a smooth-talking city man who eventually
abandons her to her fate. Desperate, she attempts to return to her Puritanical farming family.
Movie Fact: This film contains the famous scene in which Gish nearly lost her life as she leapt across an ice floe. The day of the stunt-man had yet to occur, and the genuinely perilous stunts were performed by the stars themselves.
Adults are only $5, Children $2. A one-of-a-kind, unique Oklahoma experience!
As guests arrive they will be treated to classic tunes by Phil Judkins and then Bill Rowland on Circle Cinema's original 1928 pipe organ. This program is sponsored in part by the Sooner State Chapter of the American Organ Society, Tulsa Kids, Arts Alliance Tulsa, and Circle Cinema.
