We have been invited back to Syfy Bartow!
USS Haven Volunteers will be hosting an information table, posing for photos in costume, working some games, assisting with the costume contest, greeting visitors and guests, sharing Star Trek information, and adding a bit of Federation ambience to the day’s
festivities. This is a uniform/costume preferred event, if not please don a USS Haven shirt (if you dont have either, contact me Im sure we can work something out).
We have also been asked to run a panel and provide 1 or 2 adult volunteer panel organizers, if interested, please post in this page. We will discuss this further at our monthly meetings.
The event begins at 11, so we would need to be there by 10:15-10:30 to setup, which means leaving by 8:45am-9 to account for the 1.5 hours drive time. We will be 'working the event' until around 5 or so, at which point we'll seek out new food groups and new restaurants and boldly go where no stomach has gone before. The event itself goes onto about 9 (usually they'll show a movie after the sun goes down, which is around 6:30 at this time of year).
If you want to attend as a USS Haven volunteer, please select "GOING". If you cannot make the entire event (ie setup at ~10:15 to ~5), please indicate that in a post after you select "GOING". We don't expect you to stay at the booth 100% of the time, infact we encourage everyone to regularly walk around and participate in events (as long as 1 or 2 people are at the table at any one time), this gets us and our group positive attention. Please finalize by 2/12. If you are interested in this event, but cannot commit to attending as a USS Haven volunteer, please select "INTERESTED".
