Two Coats Colder - Ray Taylor, Anna Bass, Chris Bullen and David Baird - are a quirky progressive acoustic folk band performing a mix of self-penned traditional
& contemporary songs. The line-up includes, guitars, bass, mandolin & harmonium.
Listening to them it's hard to believe that Two Coats Colder have only been playing together since 2011, but it is true. These musican/singers, each with their own extensive individual careers going back over decades came together at High Barn, the renowned beautiful period venue in Great Bardfield, Essex.
The band has rapidly been making a lasting impression among the folk clubs, music venues and folk festivals around the country. They enjoy an excellent reputation as headliners in their own right, but also have supported a broad array of popular performers including Bob Fox, Emily McGuire, Jim Moray, John Conolly, Elbow Jane, Rory McLeod, Sara Grey & Kieron Means, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Winter Wilson, The Bounty Hounds, and others.
The band's début album Unseen Highway is superb, showcasing Anna's captivating voice and the band's infectiously catchy, yet thought-provoking songs. It has received considerable airplay and the hauntingly beautiful track Six Thousand Miles featured on The Mike Harding Folk Show in July 2015.
"Anna Bass's voice really is quite amazing. Great track!" (Six Thousand Miles)
Mike Harding, Mike Harding Folk Show, July 2015
"Unseen Highway" is an album that's very easy to listen to and very easy to return to because it's an album that teams with life, indulge yourself.
