Following the devastating 2011 tsunami, musicians and community organizers teamed together to build new music venues ("live houses") using reclaimed rubble to help reinvigorate the rural countryside where most of the damage was incurred. In 2013, 2 students from Tokyo's Waseda University took their cameras
up to the sites of the new venues to document what was happening on the ground with 東北ライブハウス大作戦 (Tōhoku Live House Daisakusen)!
Join us for a showing of this documentary, as well as Japanese themed tamales from Substation's fave Nacho Mama's Tamales, as well as locally-distilled sake from Ballard's Tahoma Fuji Sake Brewing Company.
