Sierra Watch and the Sierra Nevada Alliance are proud to co-present Truckee's Wild & Scenic Film Festival. This festival combines award winning environmental and adventure films with the energy of local activism.
The film festival will also feature live music by Bison Bluegrass Band, a silent auction, and an activism area where local organizations will be on hand to talk to you about their work.
This year’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival will go towards two great causes, including Sierra Watch’s continued work to Keep Squaw True and the Alliance's Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership.
As we challenge KSL and Placer County on overdevelopment in Squaw Valley, we thought it would be fun to get together and watch stories of local communities taking action to protect what they love.
Similarly, the festival will also benefit the work of the Alliance’s Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership. This program annually places 28 AmeriCorps members at various conservation organizations throughout the Sierra Nevada to conduct watershed restoration and monitoring, watershed education, and volunteer recruitment and support. Members truly make a difference in the communities they serve throughout the Sierra, and this festival will help to continue this program.
So come out and enjoy good music and movies for two great causes.
