We invite SYL members and their guests to join in on the hunt Friday, January 29th to raise money for Hale Kipa's YO! House and Waikiki Homeless Youth Shelter. To play, participants need a $20 entry fee, and all monies collected will be donated.
Participants (a.k.a Treasure Hunters) will be divided
into teams and will be solving clues and racing to complete their treasure hunt map. Teams that complete their map first, will win some great prizes! At each stop along their map, team members have to take a silly Instagram photo showing that they completed the task.
Prizes include pairs of movie tickets, Jamba Juice gift cards, Zippy's gift cards and much more! The hunt begins at the Honolulu Zoo parking lot at 7:00 p.m.
Ages: 15 and up are welcome to join us as well!
If you are interested in joining in on the fun, please contact Amanda at firstname.lastname@example.org or 543.2213 by 1/22/16 to RSVP
Background on Hale Kipa's YO! House and Waikiki Homeless Youth Shelter:
Since 1989, Hale Kipa and the Waikiki Health Center have been providing services to runaway and homeless youth and young adults on Oahu through the Youth Outreach (YO) program. The program provides street outreach, drop-in services, case management, counseling, and health/medical services to street/street-identified youth on a referral and walk-in basis.
YO provides services in Waikiki and downtown Honolulu and maintains a house in Waikiki that provides basic services such as showers, laundry and casual meals.
Each year, YO serves thousands of youth by providing these basic survival needs and assisting them to find permanent housing. YO’s staff develop relationships by effectively engaging a range of youth with differing ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and cultures in a sensitive manner. In this way, YO clients are introduced to a wide range of services that are critical to meeting their most basic needs.
