Trauma Informed Yoga with Hannah

In today’s world, mental health is a major issue. According to statistics, twenty percent of people have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Yoga is a tool that can help people who have experienced trauma. Using the mind, body and breath, trauma informed yoga can help trauma survivors feel safe in their

bodies.

In this workshop we will look at trauma in today’s world, trauma theory, trauma informed yoga principles, the neurobiological impact of yoga, and trauma informed yoga best practices. You will also be guided through a 60 minute Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga practice based on the work of Dr. Bessel Van de Kolk.

This workshop is accessible to everyone. It can be used as a tool to help people develop a deeper yoga practice. It is useful for yoga teachers to become more mindful of how trauma may be impacting people in their classes.
