Fresh off the celebrated release of their fourth album, The Stanfields make their return to Glasgow Square Theatre in the winter of 2016.
For their first rock show in New Glasgow since 2013, The Stanfields hit the stage at The Square on Saturday, February 20th in support of Modem Operandi. It will
also mark their first time back since the arrival of new bassist Dillan Tate from Antigonish County and fiddler/bouzouki player Calen Kinney, originally from Bailey’s Brook, Pictou County. Founding members Jason Wright and Craig Harris left The Stanfields last summer, but continue to be supportive and friends of the band.
The Stanfields are a five-piece rock/roots band based in Halifax NS. They play what they want, sing what they feel, and leave nothing on the table.
“Modem Operandi is a factory of broken hearts and promises, rebelliousness,
burst dreams and a credible modesty” – Underdog-Fanzine.de
“Too many of these bands sound like Pogues wannabes, but that’s not where
The Stanfields are coming from. They want to rock very hard, honour traditional
East Coast music, and sing about being from a place with hard-working people,
the ones they grew up with, and the ones in their audience.” – Bob Mersereau,
“Working class heroes” – Here Magazine (5/5 star album review)
Opening the show will be Halifax's Like A Motorcyle.
