The Marshall Society proudly invites you to the Third Annual Conference. The conference is titled, “The Evolution of Economic Thought” and will be the largest event of the society's calendar year. This is a unique opportunity for students to gain an insight into how the field of economics has evolved
over the course of history from internationally recognised subject specialists, academics and representatives from industry.
Given the theme of the conference, the confirmed list of speakers encompasses a wide range of fields within economics. Confirmed speakers include, Sir Chris Pissarides (Nobel Prize in Economics 2010), Jon Gruber (Professor in Economics at MIT, key architect in the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)) and Ian Stewart (Chief Economist at Deloitte). There also promises to be talks on newer fields of economic thought from Professor Richard Layard (Director of the Centre for Economic Performance at the LSE) and Professor Tony Lawson (Head of Cambridge Social Ontology Group).
