The Holocaust in the Soviet Union, the Holocaust in Rostov-on-Don (Russia).
At this talk Maris Rowe-McCulloch, visiting PhD Candidate from the University of Toronto, Canada, will discuss the history of the Holocaust on Soviet territory, as well as her own research on the Holocaust within the city of
Rostov was the site of the largest massacre of Jews on Russian soil (the RSFSR) during the Holocaust, and one of the largest massacres in the Soviet Union as a whole.
Maris Rowe-McCulloch is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto in Canada. She has an MPhil from the University of Oxford and a B.A. from the University of Toronto. Maris is an alumna of the Saul Kagan Fellowship in Advanced Shoah Studies, and in 2018-2019 she will be a recipient of an Association of Jewish Studies (AJS) Dissertation Completion Grant Fellowship.
