Glendale Woodturners Guild
A local Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners
Presents a Collection of Work by Its Members
June 3 – 23, 2016
The Glendale Woodturners Guild was started in June 1993, with 13 people attending the first meeting. Since then its membership has grown to nearly
200. The Guild was formed to establish an organized forum for woodturners of all skill levels to meet on a regular basis. The meetings are designed to educate and inspire its members and encourage the sharing of ideas, techniques, materials, and equipment.
This exhibit will feature work from some of the best wood artists in the Guild. The pieces on display are expected to range from salad bowls, boxes, platters, and vases to pieces that have been intricately turned, carved, pierced, colored, wood burned or otherwise enhanced. Several members are award-winning turners, having received local and national awards for their outstanding artistic creativity and quality workmanship.
Many people who see such woodturnings for the first time are in wonderment over how the pieces were made. We hope you will come and see for yourself the amazing creativity of these wood artists.
