Why can't we have nice things in Denver? By that, we mean living wage, truly affordable housing, rent controls or renter's rights...and more? The long and the short of it is that the state legislature can swoop in at any time and veto what we do in Denver county, claiming "state interest" and eliminating
our local control rights, often in favor of strengthening corporate rights.
The Colorado Community Rights Amendment could change all that. Come and learn about what this means, the stakes, about getting it onto the ballot...and most importantly, how you can help.
The Green Party of Colorado is the ONLY political party in the state that has endorsed this proposed amendment.
Our presenter will be Merrily Mazza, a councilwoman for the city of Lafayette and one of the founders of COCRN, a group which started out as dedicated to opposition to fracking but who truly has a holistic vision for the rights of all Coloradans.
The presentation will be webcasted, and the link will be announced later.
