The Bellows is a monthly production-focused panel discussion and industry hang-out, where all are welcome to take part... whether to further their skills and acquire additional knowledge from industry professionals in their field, or to learn something new and valuable about an aspect of theatre they
might be less familiar with. During and following the panel discussion, the TPM bar is open and everyone is invited to grab a drink, see some familiar faces, meet some new friends and colleagues, and generally come together as a community.
This month's edition of the Bellows is: How To Work With Your Friends (And Stay Friends). Much of our industry is predicated on Who You Know... these are the people we work with, work for, employ; Whether creating a new work or forming a new company, we tend to work with people we know. Working with friends has many advantages: mutual understanding, similar work habits, a reciprocity of values and goals... but it isn't always easy. Nailing down schedules, divvying up the work-load, and the dreaded issues of money; these can be sensitive issues in even the most solid of partnerships. Our panel of professionals has a wealth of experience working, happily, in different facets and roles in tandem with other friends and colleagues. And no casualties thus far! Come, listen, ask some questions, and learn how you too can work with your friends... and stay friends!
