Join us in exploring the themes of religion and poverty in the African American community.
The Alumni Student Association of SUNY Empire State College's Rochester location is pleased to partner with David Shakes '85 and the North Star Players to present, "The Amen Corner," a play by James Baldwin. James
Baldwin was a civil rights activist and prolific African American writer. His play, "The Amen Corner," explores the themes of religion and poverty in the African American community. A community scholar will lead a discussion following each performance.
The play will run each evening from January 19 - 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets must be purchased by January 16 and will be distributed at the box office.
After January 16, tickets may be purchased at the Multi Use Community Cultural Center or website based on availability. Ticket prices will vary each day.
