Mark your calendars! As part of The Big Read, the Jackson-Madison County Library is excited to invite the ENTIRE community to a FREE production by the Tennessee Shakespeare Company!
This fast-paced 45-minute show creatively links Memphis music that came out of Stax Recording Studios and Sun Studios
in the 50s and 60s to the works of Shakespeare!
The Tennessee Shakespeare Company invites you to discover chart-topping, foot-stomping Shakespeare featuring Jillian Barron and Zach Williams in this musical performance directed by Stephanie Shine.
This is a fun show for all ages. The production will take place in the Tigrett Auditorium at Community Montessori School. No tickets are required.
The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. The Library is one of 75 communities nationwide to receive a grant for The Big Read from the NEA. The Big Read aims to inspire a greater understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. Our selection, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, is available for checkout or digital download through the library, along with two companion titles for younger audiences: City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau and Blackout by John Rocco. Visit our Big Read website for details about our books and all the programs we are offering throughout September and October: https://www.jmcreads.org/
