Learn to develop friendship skills in a safe and supportive learning environment. Our groups focus on verbal and nonverbal methods of engaging in age-appropriate conversations and practicing them in fun, engaging activities.
We concentrate on:
• Understanding and engaging in appropriate conversations
Participating in reciprocal conversations (initiating, engaging and ending)
• Paying attention and listening to others
• Taking turns
• Staying on topic
• Choosing friends
• Trying new things
Open to: Students ages 9-14 (with or without communication devices)

The Friendship Group is facilitated by speech and language pathologist Laura Crandall, M.CSD, CCC-SLP. She has 25 years experience as a speech and language pathologist specializing in children from birth to 3. She also works with adults and children to help them achieve their potential with assistive technology.
