In the town of Ditchford – a long way from London – the Town Council has got used to running things exactly how it likes them. But panic sets in when the Mayor finds out that a secret Government Inspector is coming to the town, with a mission to investigate everything that’s going on. When a penniless
toff turns up at the local motel, everyone assumes he must be the Inspector. The result is a hilarious comedy in which everybody on the Town Council tries to buy their way into the Inspector’s good books.
