Many thousands of people have gathered on the State Library lawns to call on Australian Governments of both parties to end their inhumane and illegal treatment of people seeking a safe refuge in Australia. It has now become clear that the Government, neither Turnbull’s nor the Shorten alternative is
going to change a thing.
This is not a rally where we want you to sit or stand and listen to people tell us how bad it is: we know already.
This is a place where we can talk, not just as organisations with megaphones, but as people who have had enough.
Come to the State Library lawns, eat together, talk together, stand together. And let’s decide together where we take it from here.
This is a DIY project, bring something to eat & drink & share.
Bring your families, your friends, your ideas, your voice, your heart.
Everyone’s welcome & needed!
The land on which we gather was stolen from the Wurundjeri people who form part of the Kulin Nation.
ALWAYS WAS, ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL LAND
