On January 25th Kiri and Lindsay were leaving dinner when they were hit by a drunk driver, who fled the scene. Kiri was critically injured and remains hospitalized in the trauma ICU and is critically stable at this time. Due to severe brain trauma and swelling due to the accident, she had to have emergency
surgery to remove two pieces of her skull. Her recovery will be a long and difficult road, spending weeks to months in the hospital and rehab centers. Lindsay sustained a severe concussion and whiplash during the accident and while fortunately was not critically injured, the injuries she did sustain were serious enough that she has to go to physical therapy and required her to miss over a week of work to recover.
Lindsay and Kiri are two of, if not the most caring and selfless women I have ever had the privilege of knowing. They are the epitome of beauty, inside and out. The compassion they show towards others on a daily basis is so special and genuine. Anyone who is apart of their lives has been influenced by their unconditional love and are blessed beyond measure. They have always been their loved ones biggest supporters in times of celebration and times of sorrow and now it's our turn to be there for them; to show them just how much they are loved, appreciated, and cherished.
Everyone's support and prayers have already meant to much to all of us. Please come out, enjoy some spaghetti, and as Prince would say, let's gather and "celebrate this thing we call life!"
