We have a small window of no precipitation tomorrow and so we will take a short snowshoe hike up to the rock pile (aka: The Altar), well known to local hikers, runners, and mountain cyclists. We will take the road (easy way) up for a mile, and then take the northern spur trail another mile up to the
altar. Four miles round trip.
Bring snowshoes, poles, (spikes can be packed in just in case the trail is packed), a waterproof layer (rain/snow expected at Noon), warm layers/gloves, sun protection, plenty of water, and an item for the potluck lunch afterwards. We hope to get down to the parking lot before it starts to rain. I will bring soup.
