Sirasana – Headstand Workshop
Sometimes in a regular class it feels like there just isn’t quite enough time to fully explore Sirsasana (headstand). So if headstand is something you’re keen to work towards or if you would like to build confidence in the posture come and join us! This posture is not
known as the ‘King of Asana’ for nothing ..when practiced safely there are huge physical and energetic benefits. You will be guided through warming key muscle groups and work through different stages to access the posture.
For those who are more confident there will be the chance to revisit the foundations of the posture and explore different transitions. Energetically the focus of the afternoon will be letting go of fears, flipping things around, embracing new perspectives on and off the mat. There will of course be a long, leisurely yoga nidra relaxation to finish and cake .. both of which will be delicious and well deserved!
This workshop is suitable for all, alternatives will be given so everyone will be able to get upside down in some shape or form. Working with this practice is not recommended if you have high blood pressure, glaucoma or issues with your neck / cervical spine. For women it is down to personal choice whether you’re comfortable practicing inversions when you’re menstruating. If you’re unsure whether this workshop is suitable for you feel free to get in touch to discuss.
Practice will be led by Helen a British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher with a laid back friendly approach
