Join world renowned shaman and teacher Brant Secunda in a journey to a place of healing and discovery. Since 1982, our annual retreat at Mt. Shasta been an opportunity for people from around the globe to come together in sacred practice, ceremony, and celebration.

Through guided practice, ancient ritual, storytelling, dance, song, ceremony and pilgrimage, the circle embraces us all, and together we bring healing to our community and our world.

//•\\//•\\ ABOUT BRANT SECUNDA //•\\//•\\

Brant Secunda is an internationally acclaimed shaman, healer, and teacher in the indigenous Huichol tradition of Mexico.

During an intensive 12-year apprenticeship, Brant became the adopted grandson and close companion of Don José Matsuwa, the renowned shaman who passed away in 1990 at the age of 110.

Brant founded the Dance of the Deer Foundation Center for Shamanic Studies in 1979 and leads seminars, retreats, and pilgrimages worldwide. His work has been documented on television, radio, and in articles and books throughout the world.

The retreat is held at a beautiful campground on the lower slopes of the mountain. Well-manicured lawns and trees create a relaxing setting and at night, the star-filled sky makes for good dreams.

Our cooks prepare fresh vegetarian meals for us. Many dishes are prepared on wood-burning stoves, bringing alive the various flavors of each recipe.

CAMPING » Most participants choose to camp in this beautiful location. For campers, there’s a room to keep luggage and other personal items. Men’s and Women’s bath houses offer hot showers and a laundry room, complete with washers and dryers.

RV CAMPING » limited number of RV spaces are also available.

CABINS » There are 4 cabins available in and around the campground, which offer an alternative to camping for those who would rather sleep indoors.

HOTEL & INN » There are a number of nearby hotels and Inns available within 10 minutes of the campground. We can help arrange reservations upon registration.

Located a 6-hour drive from San Francisco, CA, Mount Shasta is part of the Cascade Range and rises to 14,162 feet (4,317 m). The mountain has been revered as sacred places of power for thousands of years.

We honor the spirit of the mountain through ceremony, pilgrimage and sacred practices.

//•\\//•\\ ABOUT THE HUICHOL TRIBE //•\\//•\\

The Huichol (Wixaritari) are a small indigenous tribe of approximately 35,000, living in the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico. They are considered one of the last cultures in North America to have maintained their pre-Columbian traditions unto the modern day.
