The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) is one of the largest rural support organizations in Sindh having organized over 600,000 rural households in the 10 districts in northern Sindh.
SRSO, under Union Council Based Poverty Reduction Program (called as UCBPRP), has trained 35,000 men and women
in various vocational / skill trades, out of which over 7,000 rural women were equipped with improved crafts making and developed a production line through its outlet “Sartyoon Sang” in Sukkur. Sartyoon Sang is a social enterprise and works towards the core objective of connecting artisans especially women to market.
SRSO has been continuously organizing the “Sartyoon Sang” Crafts Exhibitions, since 2014 at OCEAN MALL, Clifton – Karachi. Keeping in view the customer’s demand and successfulness of the preceding events which attracted a large number of visitors and buyers / shoppers of the city,SRSO has also arranged “Sartyoon Sang Crafts Festival”, at DOLMAN MALL, Clifton – Karachi from May 5 - 7, 2017.
These events were only made possible with the generous support of SRSO’s partners, donors and different stake-holders. These events were aimed to boost up the demand of local crafts and process of connecting our Business Development Groups (BDGs) and artisans to high end market of Karachi. Thus, Sartyoon Sang has struggled a lot for building its recognition among the buyers of traditional / cultural products and exquisite crafts, in last four years.
