The Salmon-Marathon starts at the Historic Tendoy one room school, which is still in use, and finishes on the banks of the Salmon river in Salmon, Idaho. The primarily dirt course runs along the Old Lemhi Road, near the birthplace of Sacajawea, a tribute to Chief Tendoy and views of the Bitterroot range
of the Continental Divide. The course is sanctioned and is a Boston Marathon Qualifying event. A half marathon follows the same course starting at the Baker cutoff road.
All proceeds benefit Whitewater Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Association.
