While AVALON SISTERS is not all about running, we ARE all about personal wellness. It just so happens that the three of us who plan events like to run and know a few people out there who like to run, too. So, we have partnered with the amazing Eric Muller of SOLE EXPERIENCE to offer new and seasoned
runners this amazing four-week package to help you prepare for the Fort Langley Historic Half's 10km race in February.
Starting January 25th for four Mondays, Eric will lead us in a series of speed workouts that are tailored to your ability. It will be up to us to coordinate the rest of our training, but he will offer us amazing tips and tricks for getting the most out of our running and racing. I will gladly coordinate longer runs for Saturday for all those who want accountability to a group to get out there and do it! We can run those longer runs at our own pace, but warm up and cool down together.
In addition to this run clinic, you will also receive an AVALON SISTERS performance t-shirt and a $10 donation will go toward Athletes In Kind to help support families battling cancer. Check out this video of a young woman battling cancer. Our small contribution here may help others find their "fight song". https://www.facebook.com/ellentv/videos/10153938909312240/
Dates: Mondays - Jan 25, Feb 1, Feb 8, Feb 15 (race is Feb 21st)
Place: We will meet at the Sole Experience Running Company's new Running Specialty Shop in Osprey Village (Pitt Meadows)
Event fee: $50 includes: 4 1-hr run clinics, 1 Avalon Sisters t-shirt (may or may not be same as previous design) and a charitable contribution to Athletes In Kind supporting families battling cancer (we know this isn't a women-centric charitable organization, but Eric is a director of this charitable organization and we believe whole-heartedly in what they do and when families are involved, women are involved).
Registration Deadline: January 10th...make it your New Year's Resolution! But sign up now before you change your mind - even if it's just for the t-shirt and charitable contribution.
How to Register: Spots will be held upon receipt of payment - please e-transfer event fee to email@example.com (or cash to Jenifer Jonsson, Dorothy Clark, or Sarah Nelson). First come, first served. ***UPDATE: Registrants, please send Sarah Emerson Nelson your t-shirt sizes so we can get the order in as soon as possible. Please also include your preferred running level from these three groups so our coach can set up our training: new runner, runner, faster runner.***
Maximum spots: no maximum - we will add as many leaders as necessary
Extra notes: Make sure you dress for the weather and have good running shoes. See below for helpful links, including a link to the race itself we are training for.
