Remembrance is a concert of beautiful classical and contemporary Indian music dedicated to the memory of Padmabhushan Ustad Sultan Khan on his 6th death anniversary. Known fondly as the 'Sultan of Sarangi' he is credited with bringing the Sarangi into the World Music scene, as well as making it a solo
instrument on the Classical Indian Music circuit. He has played with the greatest artists in both Eastern and Western Music and this event is a testament to the legacy he left behind.
The concert will present "Brothers Of Strings" by his son Sabir Khan and nephew Dilshad Khan as part of a collaboration with Ustad Fazal Qureshi on tabla and Mathias Duplessy of France on guitar. This homage will blend Indian Classical and Western sounds by these world class artists together. This will be followed by a solo performance by Sitar Maestro Niladri Kumar.
