LJMU Professor of Physical Education and Youth Sport David Morley will present a lecture entitled 'Holding hands with Dave': origins and future directions of children's movement development.
Opportunities for children to move are becoming increasingly restricted. As a result, a generation of children
are being neglected with unfathomable consequences on children's wellbeing, participation and performance in sport, and the future health of the nation.
This lecture charts a decade of Professor Morley's research in the field of children's development within sport, physical activity and physical education and illuminates a vivid portrayal of the status of children's movement in the UK.
The lecture will conclude with a glimpse into the future, with a Global Children's Movement Concept offered as a way of effectively supporting children's movement and providing them with their basic right to play and move.
