This dynamic, highly experiential course combines discussion, group exercises and role-playing aimed to address ethics and principles of human conduct guided by positive intention for massage therapists and body workers. Following the NCBTMB Code of Ethics, this course will cover scope of practice and legal guidelines, cultural diversity, professional boundaries, client/therapist confidentiality, financial issues such as fair billing practices, professionalism and conflict resolution.
Upon completion of our Professional Ethics for Body workers course, you will be able to (1) define the function and purpose of professional boundaries in order to create a safe and respectful environment for the practice of massage and bodywork therapy (2) identify the role and responsibilities of the therapist/client relationship (3) understand established standards of professional behavior and how to represent yourself and your profession accurately while using appropriate professional designations and descriptions.
