In the course we will cover:
Theory and background.
Making our own tadelakt.
Practice piece to take home.
Application and servicing.
We will use polished gemstones to 'rub' on the wall and therefore Tadelakt is a very labor intensive technique but very rewarding with a magical shine and marble looking finish.
The course includes the use of all the tools and special tadelakt stones. There will be a lot of practice and the course is NOT suitable for people with weak wrists.
Course leader is Eveline Mimpen, a professional applicator of tadelakt who will be guiding you how to apply and work the tadelakt and care for it from beginning till end. You can find her here: http://deepgreendesign.org/
We will plaster outside our straw bale house. At Friberga farm there are 3 other natural buildings and some additional structures in different techniques to be inspired of! Since 2013 we have built one cordwood sauna, two timber frames different styles, a rocket stove pizza oven and more.
Course fee: 3800 SEK. Usage of tools (including the special tadelakt polishing stone), some material, place to tent, food and fika is included! You will have the oportunity to buy your own tadelakt stone so you can continue to practice your newly acquired skills at home.
