Join us for two weeks in beautiful Sweden in July for a short course in "Gestural Theatre" for actors, dancers, visual artists and other artistic disciplines.
Fees: £ 980 (discounts available if taking other short course full details on website)
We will explore gestures of the natural world and their
streaming, growing, transforming qualities.
We will discover and create gestures of landscapes with our bodies and voices.
We will read and interpret gestures of organic and natural phenomena in order to enrich and develop an understanding of our personal gestural repertoire with regard to our own practice. We will translate dynamics of organic movements and forms into gestural material for artistic and social interactions
The benefits of this are:
• to teach you how and where to seek gestural inspiration to strengthen and develop your work
• to enable you to connect more deeply with nature in order to enrich and develop an understanding of your personal gestural repertoire
• to give you a full and balanced gestural repertoire that enables you to connect with difficult themes and the question of what it means to be human and faced with the challenges of our time
Taught by masters of performing arts:
Prof. Roand Matties (professor and lecturer at the M.A. programme Performance Studies in Hamburg, at the Theaterakademie Hamburg as well as the Folkwang University of the Arts Essen)
Rachel Porter M.A (co-director of Feral Theatre as well as a lecturer at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London)
A total of 20 Credits (6 ECTS each from module 1 and 2 and 8 ECTS from module 3) can be counted towards the Postgraduate Diploma for those students who decide to enroll for the whole programme starting in September 2018
