Odenaabe- known by the Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg as the river that bubbles and beats like a heart- is the life force that runs through Nogojiwanong, Peterborough.
With the beautiful spring thaw also comes an incredible amount of garbage revealed, including in the river. Starting on Sunday, April 8th,
we will be mending our relationship with this special waterway; cleaning up garbage, singing songs & showing gratitude.
The river feels our indifference, as do all of the beings that depend on it for life. The Canadian government & corporations depend on our indifference, as they continue to devastate our waterways ( I urge you to look into the recently introduced Bill C-68 & Bill C-69).
Aambe, join us! Also, I encourage you to photograph you and/or the waste you collect along the river & share it here!
