NorthAmericana Fest presents North Carolina native Mark Bumgarner Music at Bon Temps Cafe Saskatoon Saturday January 30th at 9pm. No cover charge. Join us for a great night of music, drinks, food, and fun!
He's a son of the South, but Mark's musical influences span the American landscape, from the traditional
sounds of the Appalachian Mountains, to the West Coast country and folk rock sounds of the 60's & 70's. These influences and his own sense of musical direction have guided Mark as a musician and songwriter. Mark has spent the last thirty years performing with several national and regional touring bands, including the Nashville based JUBAL FOSTER. Since returning to Western North Carolina in 2005, he has worked primarily as a solo artist, and as half of the duo CALICO MOON with his wife Aimee Bumgarner. His musical style is a roots country, bluegrass and rockin' hillbilly blues blend that creates a true "Southern Americana" sound.
Mark's work continues to demonstrate his balance as an artist, musician, songwriter and entertainer. Mark currently has three self produced album projects to his credit. These projects display Mark's talent as both a recording artist and producer. They also display Mark's talent as a songwriter, as well
as his ability to find the right material and give it his own special touch. This too is evident in his live performances. His dynamic delivery as a vocalist and guitarist are a combination of both power and subtlety. Over the years Mark has had the opportunity to perform at a wide variety of venues. His experience and engaging style connects him to his audience, whether it's on a large festival stage, or in a small, intimate club, listening room or coffee house.
From Americana to Bluegrass, to Country, Mark combines these flavors in his own musical recipe that takes a contemporary approach with an old school sensibility.
