On Saturday, November 25th, Bar Tulia will have the honor of hosting a very special award-winning Guest Bartender – Christopher Keane from the five time James Beard nominated restaurant and bar Rhubarb in Asheville, North Carolina. He is only one of two out of state bartenders to guest bartend at our
bar, as part of our popular Guest Bartender Series, and is the ONLY native Neapolitan we have had. Chris left Naples in 2007, and headed to the Blue Ridge Mountains to hone his craft in creating inventive cocktails using local and seasonal ingredients. He will bring to Bar Tulia a menu of craft cocktails utilizing those very native ingredients, unique to Asheville and the Appalachia. He will literally bring Asheville to Naples for one night only!
Appalachia has roots in southern culture and a bounty of heirloom crops, which have been forgotten with time; but not in Asheville, North Carolina, where the dining and craft cocktail scene have exploded in recent years. After spending several years in Asheville and winning numerous craft cocktail competitions, including the renowned 2013 Elixir drink competition, Chris has become one of the best in the city. Formally a bar manager of Storm Rhum Bar, Chris moved to Rhubarb to become more well rounded after three years and mastering rum/rhum. He was featured in Garden and Gun magazine for his rhum expertise. His menu at Bar Tulia will feature 9 drinks including 6 Asheville focused cocktails and 3 of his favorite libations of all times. Chris will kick off the evening at 6pm!
