"If we want to build a world of Ecological Justice, we must demand a world beyond borders.

We live in era of mass migration and brutal deportations, from Central America to Syria to right here in the Bay Area. We also live in a time of beautiful resistance, with youth organizers declaring themselves UnDocumented and Unafraid and demanding Not1More deportation. And as climate disruption escalates across the planet, we will continue to see millions more people forced to leave their homelands in search of safety.

The question for us is: how do we respond to this global crisis with justice, ecological understanding, and deep love for the people?

Migration must be recognized for what it is: a natural response of all living things to escape hostile conditions. Our extractive economy creates these harsh conditions through exploitation, pollution, and war. Our governments then criminalize migration. The struggle for migrant rights and ecological justice are inextricably linked in our vision to dismantle this violent system, and in its place build a world of dignity, sovereignty, and a right relationship to the places we call home.

Join this exciting conversation between migrant rights organizers, climate justice activists, and audience members!"
