Session 1: Authentically YOU! (90% asana : 10% theory)
15 April (Fri): 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Come expand and explore your practice with MacKenzie Miller. In this special fun loving practice, learn to honour your true self and to march to the beat of your own drummer. Show up on your mat without expectations or judgment, let your guard down, and be surprised while you discover your true authentic self. All levels welcome but previous yoga experience recommended.
Session 2: Fearless Flying (60% asana : 40% theory)
16 April (Sat): 10:00am - 12:00pm
Fear is often a major stumbling block for arm balances, but fear no more! We will break it all down into bite-sized pieces and play with some fun variations and transitions. This class is all about getting you on your hands.
Join MacKenzie Miller to examine principles of alignment in arm balances. She will share basic poses to condition your mind and body to progress safely to more advanced arm balancing postures.This workshop will explore arm balances in a safe and approachable way, helping you overcome fears and preconceptions, build core strength, enhance the strength and stability of your shoulders and wrists, improve your focus and concentration, and awaken a greater sense of aliveness.
Session 3: Daring Gravity (60% asana : 40% theory)
16 April (Sat): 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Leave your fear cap at home and put on your confidence cape! It's time for take off! In this workshop, MacKenzie will teach you the alignment and strength needed to create a strong foundation for your inversion practice. You'll leave questioning gravity, feeling more confident and empowered both on and off of your mat! All levels welcome and encouraged!
Session 4: Twist and Shout! (80% asana : 20% theory)
17 April (Sun): 10:00am - 12:00pm
Don't get twisted! Get hip and spend some time loving your hips, hamstrings and low back! Warming up with a sweet smooth flow you'll head into hamstring bliss and have the chance to take flight with your new found mobility. There will be opportunities to enter hand balances like Eka Pada Koundinyasana I & II, Eka Pada Galavasana and Grasshopper traditionally or from an inversion if you like to add extra spice to your practice and uncover new found flexibility and confidence on your hands.
Session 5: Grow Roots
17 April (Sun): 1:30pm - 3:30pm
In this rooted workshop we'll spend time going over
the biomechanics of creating a solid base, opening the front line of the body, and cover how to backbend safely. Learn how to build a solid foundation whether you're on your feet or your hands and from that grounded position allow your heart to smile in your backbends.
By the end of this session, you may find that your toes are capable of getting closer to your head in scorpion without compromising the integrity of your lumbar spine than you thought!
