Starting off the new year, we are continuing with our bi-monthly artist talks as organized by the Fibres & Material Practices program!
JAN. 20th 2016 // 12:40 - 1:20 // EV Building 9.730
This week's speaker will be Jackie Partridge.
Jackie is from the small town of Wellesley, Ontario. She graduated
in 2014 with her Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. Jackie’s work is heavily influenced by her family’s heritage and connection to farming. Her work explores themes of domesticity, memory and loss of farmlands in the Canadian landscape. Jackie is a textile artist who works with found fabrics, sewing on dissolvable paper and hand embroidery. Her process uses repetition to relate to the routine and labour involved with running a household and a farm.
