Travel with us on our maiden trip to Bing Concert Hall, located on the Stanford Campus! We will be attending an intimate performace by Grammy Award winning Jazz singer Kurt Elling.
Kurt Elling has been nominated for 10 Grammy awards and won a Grammy for Best Jazz vocal album for his album "Dedicated
To You." The New York Times stated that Elling is, "The standard male vocalist of our time." He will be performing his latest album "Passion World." He will be singing songs of love and loss from around the globe in their original language. The ruch-voiced baritone provides the story and context for these passion-stirring songs by everyone from Brahms and Edith Piaf to Brazilian master Antonio Carlos Jobim, singing Scottish folk songs and swinging tunes associated with Frank Sinatra.
The Bing Concert Hall opened in January 2013. The immaculate setting consists of only 842 seats. The center seating section begins on the same level as the stage. The result is a concert experience of unparalleled intimacy, offering amazing sightlines from all angles and a rare conjoining of artists and audience. Our seats are right in the center of the hall, which ensures we will have a great view, sound, and experience!
Before the show, we will have a no-host dinner at the restaurant of your choice along University Avenue in Palo Alto. Some great restaurants in the area include: The Cheesecake Factory (American), Steam (Chinese), Sam's Chowder House (Seafood), La Strada (Italian), and Siam Royal (Thai).
Activity Level: Low/Moderate periods of standing and walking at your own pace, stairs. Please let us know if you require ADA seating when signing up.
