We are so proud too announce that the Kilmore Band will be rocking us all night long, with special guests soon to be announced. From the gritty coastal city of Halifax, Nova Scotia comes Kilmore: An energetic force of rock and roll with hard hitting guitar riffs, a powerhouse rhythm section, and vocals
that soar. They are a clash of the classic rock of the 70’s with the dirty sounds of the 90’s, paying respect to rock icons such as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Neil Young, Black Sabbath, and Joan Jett. Kilmore bring an energetic and full live show that is not one to be missed.
After a couple years of establishing themselves in the Halifax music scene and Atlantic Canada, Kilmore released their debut EP, City Lights in 2015. This landed them a Loud Recording of the Year nomination at the 2015 Music Nova Scotia Awards. Recorded at Codapop Studios with ECMA Nominated Engineer, Erien Eady-Ward, they aimed to capture their aggressive and dynamic live performance. To nail down the gripping vocal performance, Kilmore ventured to Yarmouth in the South Shore to record with Matthew Bridgeo (Lead Mule) with help from Crystal Porter for backing vocals. Mixed by Erien-Eady Ward, and mastered by J. LaPointe of Archive Mastering.
Kilmore is Heather Doran (Guitar/Vocals), Dan Doran (Guitar), Neil Spence (Bass), and Lor Sangster (Drums)
“…with brawny, distorted guitar licks, steadily pounding drums and wailing vocals akin to classic rock radio, [City Lights] sets the tone for the four-piece’s muscular sound.” - Alex Hudson, Exclaim!
