To build an Edmonton that is peaceful and compassionate, we must make a shift from tolerating our community's immense diversity to truly understanding, appreciating and celebrating it. Join us in building compassionate communities by applying to become a John Humphrey Centre Peacebuilder! You will join
a team of enthusiastic, innovative and driven Peacebuilders who are committed to advancing interfaith efforts and strengthening compassion throughout Edmonton.
As a Peacebuilder, you will:
-Explore, and gain a greater appreciation for, Edmonton's diverse faiths, perspectives and ways of being through a community agency study tour
-Engage in critical discussions on peace, faith diversity and human rights
-Build relationships of understanding, trust and respect between Edmonton's various social, ethnocultural and faith communities
-Explore Canadian history, identity and values while working together to create a renewed story of what it means to be Canadian
-Reflect on key issues which affect young people in Edmonton
-Become young leaders who have developed tangible action plans for positive change in Edmonton
-Receive a certificate upon completion of the program!
Community agency visits and dialogues will be on Thursdays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (January 14 - March 31)
