Incredible Society presents: Snapped Ankles

// Incredible Society @ Ghost Notes, Peckham //

Line-up:

SNAPPED ANKLES

These folk make frenetic, momentous motoriking pagan offerings that make the city people cry and their bank notes flutter away on the breeze. Justly gathering the following it deserves, their debut LP album has been objectively

heralded as "the most exciting thing in our world" (Loud & Quiet). High art and cultural detritus are all fair game: subjects veer from dystopian futures to diatribes against Swedish flat-pack furniture, from the films of Godard and Tarkovsky to throwaway Youtube comments. One of the most arousing, muddy and life-improving shows around — Come Play The Trees!

Capitol K

Continuing the agrarian theme to the night, the mythic helmsman of the Total Refreshment Centre studio (and Snapped Ankles co-conspirator) presents music from his new project/album, GOATHERDER. Developing the work on his native Malta, K built a temporary studio in one of the island's caves, a dwelling previously used as goat stables. Utilising bamboo flutes, horns, pipes, percussion, electronics, ancient resonances and his very own smarts, Capitol K's new record is the one that everyone's going to be listening to by the end of the year — but for now, this show is the only place to bless your ears.

John Johanna

With blessings of a more ecclesiastical bent, mixing gospel, balladry, a phenomenal voice and technical wizadry, John Johanna produces music that rivals Otis G. Johnson and Sister Irene O’connor for sonic-riding spiritual trajectories—and we all need more of those. Come and be witness to something "thoroughly gifted" (The Quietus) that’s only just getting started, but not before listening to this gift of a record: https://johnjohanna.bandcamp.com/album/ill-be-ready-when-the-great-day-comes-12-mini-lp
