Hiking the Bloodiest Day – Antietam. Sunday November 5, 2017. 9:48am With Garry Adelman and Tim Smith!
Presented by John O’Donnell (and Little John assisting)
I'm very excited to announce our Fall Hike! For those of you on the Spring Hike we asked what You wanted us to do and we listened. We aspire
to keep things fresh so we decided on a Tim and Garry Tour of the Antietam Battlefield! This is sure to be an event you will not want to miss. Our guides expertise, comedic exploits and one of a kind programs are always worth it and are both fun and informative for beginner to expert alike. This is also a family friendly event. Children 12 and under are welcome sans donation at our events and we Love to see the next generation in our ranks!
John and I will provide lanyards and Prizes for this event as we have done in the past. If you have never attended a Tim and Garry event before there is no need to be nervous. Both guides are very kind and approachable as well as everyone else we have come to know over the years. We really hope to see you there! Our Friends! Our Family!
Below is a brief description of the days events. Map of the Hike is pinned as the first comment. Thanks, John and John.
Overflowing with iconic places—the Dunker Church, the Cornfield, the West Woods, the Hagerstown Pike and Bloody Lane—and captured on glass through Mathew Brady’s cameras, Antietam is more than the bloodiest day. The battle and aftermath had profound implications for our nation. The events surrounding the battle are well-documented but, best of all, this hallowed ground comprises the most pristine and well-preserved major battlefield in the east. Join us for an all-new, 7-mile hike covering main figures, cool places, photos galore, hidden gems and access to restricted sites. Your $23 donation covers Park entrance fees, water along the way and donation of proceeds to the Civil War Trust. BYO lunch, enthusiasm and general nerdiness! Park at the Visitor Center and meet directly across the road. Hope to see you there!
