The calling to ministry always involves travel — and travail. The motion of love, the inward response (willing or unwilling) and the risk of service demand preparation, clarity, listening, humility, and trust. Each calling is a little different, but we all have many things to learn from each other, and
from those who have gone before. Sharing what we’ve learned in the exercise of our gifts, we give each other encouragement. This weekend is for Friends experienced in traveling in ministry, hoping to encourage such travel, and/or wanting to understand that traditional practice better. The weekend will include times for open worship, and also sessions in which we can explore together common themes, experiences, and issues of the traveling ministry, such as discernment, the nature of concerns, the minister’s relation to their meeting and those they visit, and others that will arise from the group.
