Join us on a very special trek to one of the most popular and recognisable attractions in the world – the Great Wall of China!
Throughout the adventure, taking place from 29th October – 6 November, you will trek remote sections of the Great Wall from Gubeikou to Simatai, taking in vast and varied scenery
and passing through wild landscapes, green river valleys, mountain peaks, with one of the great wonders of the world as the backdrop.
The trek aims to raise £100,000 to help us continue to provide specialist care for adults, young people and children in the North East.
You will be camping along the route, allowing you to experience and gain an understanding of the real China, and the way of life of the local people. The final day of the trip is a full day in Beijing, with visits to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square culminating in a farewell dinner.
If you are interested in finding out more about the China Trek, we are holding an informal information event at the Hospice on Monday 19th October at 7pm. The evening will be an excellent opportunity to ask questions and find out more about what to expect from the challenge and speak to previous St Oswald’s trekkers about their experiences.
