I've never been able to hike in the Fall in some natural park and this year I'm not going to let the opportunity slip through!
Lost Maples is the only place in Texas where you can see actual Fall foliage colors! Otherwise you'd have to drive all the way to North Carolina.
Also, Lost Maples had all
campsites fully booked since August but there is another state park close by called Garner State Park and that's where I was able to get a campsite. It's less than 1 hour drive from Lost Maples.
I got a campsite for 8 people if you want to join me. The name of the camping "neighborhood" site I booked is Pecan Grove, so look for the signs to this area once you enter the state park.
We leave on Friday morning, hang out around Garner on Friday and on Saturday we go hike to Lost Maples and take lots of beautiful pictures.
See you there!
