If you are not interested
in parading your boat but lives in our lake community, you are welcome to watch and invite your family and friends. Sign up for those parading, a boat is through Eventbrite (donations expected & must be paid in advance or at Friday Mandatory Meeting: suggested minimum donations is $50 per boat). Mandatory CAPTAINS Meeting is Friday, July 13th at 6pm at Sunset Beach. Meeting will discuss rules; assign boat numbers, placement of judges, sponsors introductions, prizes announced. Bring a dish to share and Baggo games to follow.
Lineup of boats on July 14th will begin at 7pm. Participants will line up at Sunset Beach boat ramp area and circle lake counter-clockwise 2x with 1x in big channel. Awards will be announced and prizes distributed on Sunday at noon at Sunset Beach. Asking all participants to do a victory cruise on Sunday and anchor together.
The donations for this event are used to maintain our awesome natural resource- Gages Lake. The donations will be provided to Gages Lake Conservation Committee to provide weed control and other conservation needs. Last year we raised $2k and had over 27 paraded motorized boats. Note, this is a fundraiser event for GLCC, but they are not affiliated with this event. This event is considered a block community on the lake party – a non-profit fundraiser. All participants are responsible for their own safety and wellbeing of others and accept risk for themselves and any guest. All volunteers and sponsors are not responsible under any circumstances for any injury or damage you may suffer, and are NOT responsible for bodily injury, property damage cause by factors beyond their control, including but not limited to: extreme weather, sickness, or any other cause beyond reasonable control of such parties. For more information on GLCC, they have meetings at the Sears Office on Rule Ct. off of Sears Rd., the 2nd Thursday of most months at 7pm. You are welcome to come and be informed about what takes place on Gages Lake. GLCC hosts a “Clean Up Highway 45 Day”-from Center St. to Gages Lake Rd twice a year; 6pm, meet at Bakes, April 18th-. Also, they sponsor with Gagewood Lions/WPD/Local Fishing Club- Family Carp Day, May 19th (need fishing license). Stocking Fish, Monitors Lake clarity, Spring Weed Control & Algae treatment and Near Shoreline Clean-up.
