What is this “Acro” you speak of?
The practice of Acro blends circus level acrobatics with the art form Acroyoga. Acroyoga has deep roots in yoga and many of the partner poses are inspired by yoga. This means Acroyoga is highly accessible for all and it is the foundation for the Chattanooga Acro community. At its heart, acro is about community, playfulness, and challenging yourself to push your limits in a safe, fun, and loving environment. Because the practice of Acro is always a multi-person activity, you’ll find a beautiful and inclusive community wherever you find upsidedown acro-yogis!
The practice of Acro is always a multi-person activity, which allows this practice to have a unique aspect of community, playfulness, and and because of this it creates a beautiful community to be apart of.
What to expect:
The friday night Acro session lasts for two hours. For the first hour there will teacher led instruction followed by an hour of guided play/practice time. This is your opportunity to get help with something you are working on, or just make new friends and play. If you have to leave after the first hour that quite alright too! If you’re feeling social join us after the two hour class for food, drinks and a fun hangout.
What to bring?
All you need to bring is yourself. While Acro is a multi-person sport you don't need to have another person to join in, as we have you covered there. You might want a water if you get thirsty.
There are so many reason to do Acro, you only need to find the one that speaks to you! For some it's about lifting something other than weights and having fun. For others it's the warm community that welcomes you like family.
Friday night Acro will be happening on the second and fourth friday of every month. The class starts at 6pm and lasts until approximately 8pm. After class we will have social gathering at a location to be determined in class.
At the one and only Peace Strength Yoga of course! (Insert Location here)
