Wanted to let you all know that we are having an event at French Azilum in Towanda Pa. May 26th and 27th.I need to give the site a firm number of participants by April 6th. A registration form will be available soon. All registrations should be done as a unit by unit commanders, not individuals. Unless,
of course, your unit only has one individual.
The website for the event location is www.frenchazilum.com http://www.frenchazilum.com if you want to examine it closer. Any participants will need to bring tentage, unless you want to sleep under the stars. Units will also be responsible for there own food and powder. Horses are allowed and the site has a water supply. Cavalry will need to register with me by March 25th.
The site has 22+ acres and 2 buildings (one cabin from the 1790's and a house built in the 1830's) which house interesting artifacts. I drove up there last year and the scenery is beautiful. It is rather difficult to find as it is located in a very rural area. As the history of this site falls into the period 1791-1798, the site manager is very excited to have us and trying to promote the event heavily (in a very rural area). They would like to see a tactical engagement, as well unit drill and living history talks with the public. The staff of the event dress in period clothing, and suggested getting involved in the event as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
All the best,
